House of Normandie began in 2006 with Adam and Kain Marzalado, Frank Koster, and David Alley from the remnants of their high school punk band in Round Lake, IL. In April of that year, they recorded a self titled EP produced by Shiraz Dada of Maps and Atlases. In the two years following the EP, Adam and Kain Marzalado continued to play shows as the members constantly changed. They finally unified as the real House of Normandie with long time friends Humberto Mendoza and Frank Ligety.
In 2008 the members moved into a house in Chicago with a few friends and began a DIY venue called Speak Easy. During that time they recorded a full length album entitled Truth for Us. The album was recorded in the basement of their home by friend and roommate Chris Alvarez of Gypsy Blood. Truth for Us is a flow of up lifting jams that is a tribute to friends and a testament to good vibes. Over the next year House played nonstop all over Chicago and neighboring states, including a show in Iowa at Drake University’s Earth Jam with Cloud Cult.
In June of 2010, House recorded again with Joe Gac in Algonquin, IL. They recorded at the home of Todd Pot, member of House that Gloria Vanderbilt and Apocalypse Hoboken. Their second album, Myth of a Town, is a venting of mundane life and thoughts themselves. Through the rest of that year, stress and tension built between the members. House came to an end at the CD release show for Myth of a Town in September of 2010. As the months passed after the break up comradery returned and House of Normandie reunited in early 2011. But, after only playing a few shows further bullshit caused House and guitar player Humberto to split ways.
Now with refocused freedom House of Normandie is ready to rock their asses off.
HOUSE OF NORMANDIE is Adam Marzalado, Kain Marzalado, Frank Ligety
